Jessica and I are planning sort of a “vision trip” for this March and April, to go visit a team in Toulouse, France. As I was doing some research for the trip, I came across this page on culture shock on the site of Americans in Toulouse. I kept going “yep” and “check” as I was reading, because we’ve experienced a lot of what they talk about.

But here’s a chart that stood out to me. We’ve known that the Lord was preparing us for our future ministry during this year in Panama, but it’s cool to see how perfectly the Lord works…this chart shows the difference between United States culture and French (and Panamanian) culture and just how similar French and Panamanian culture is. Sure, there are tons of differences, but there are also a lot of (frustrating) similarities.
You can add “Panamá” to the right column.
